YAY!! It’s my first advice!
Hi Aadya, So,I love writing, and I wanna fill a whole book with just one story. The problem is, I can’t stick with one story! Every time a new story idea comes I tear the old the pages away and a load of paper is wasted. How do I stick with 1 story?
Hi Helpful Helper!
Woah, yeah, I really like writing stories too. In fact, I have about ten half-written stories because I got ideas for new ones. I never really finshed those. But yeah, onto your problem.
It seems like you need help staying focused on one thing. There are a lot of things going on in your mind, which is causing you to become stressed. When you’re writing, follow these tips to make sure you won’t get distracted:
- Remember to have a clean and quiet working space. To much noise and things like that can make you very distracted.
- Use something that will help you stay calm and relaxed, like a squishy toy. Stress can make your mind wander.
- Finally, make sure that if you feel the urge to write a new story, do it AFTER you’re done with your current one. It may be tempting, but it helps!
Also, if there’s anything in your head while writing a story, try adding it into your current story. Who knows? It might actually turn out better than you thought! And, even if you start writing a new story, remember to write that one for one day, your current one for another, and repeat until your stories are done. When you finish, you won’t have one story but TWO!
I really hope this helped you. Thanks so much for asking!
