“Hey, Martin,” said Bella as she walked into his room. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know this would happen.” Martin took a deep breath and replied, “Oh, it’s okay. I’m fine.” After that, Bella continued, “Great! I wanted to cheer you up today, so I thought I’d take you somewhere.” Martin nodded and then they got on Bella’s bike.
“Where are we even going?” asked Martin. Bella rolled her eyes. “Don’t distract me. I’m trying to pedal!” she said. “But, anyways, we’re almost there. Just wait!” Finally, they arrived after an hour.
“Wow! Museum of Treasure?” yelled Martin. “Amazing!” They walked inside and saw all the pieces of treasure around them. Martin thought that a gold coin which was found on a pirate’s ship was the best thing. A young man approached the two. “So, how are ye liking this today?” he asked. Bella showed him a thumbs up. “That’s great. My name’s Thomas Smith, and if ye need anything, just say.” He winked. The children nodded and continued looking at the artifacts. But Thomas followed them. “Ye need anything yet, kids?” he asked. Bella and Martin shook their heads. Thomas laughed and walked away, while muttering something to himself.
“CHILDREN, CHILDREN!” he shouted to Martin and Bella. “I know ye will love the pirate room, especially you, little boy.” Martin’s face lit up. “Sure!” he agreed. They walked over, and Thomas said, “Wait one second, kids, I’ll be right back…” Thomas walked out of the room, and then they noticed that they were the only ones in there. The door snapped shut behind them and the room went dark. “BELLA!” yelled Martin. “BELLA! I CAN’T SEE A THING!” Bella frantically looked around for Martin. “DON’T WORRY! I’M SURE THERE’S A LIGHT SWITCH HERE!” Suddenly, they heard a voice. They recognized it. It was Thomas! “Welcome, children, to the escape room!” he chuckled. “Escape under the time limit of one hour, and ye will earn a prize. Oh, and there are special items to help you hidden everywhere. Good luck!”
Bella shouted, “MARTIN! THERE HAS TO BE A FLASHLIGHT HERE SOMEWHERE! USE YOUR SENSE OF TOUCH TO FIND IT.” They searched around everywhere until Martin tripped on the flashlight. He turned it on. “BELLA!” he yelled to Bella. “OH, I FINALLY SEE YOU! WE’VE GOT TO KEEP SEARCHING.” Then, they heard Thomas’ voice again. “Would you two please quiet down? No need to yell. Oh, and you’ve only got forty minutes left. Keep searching!”
They kept on searching for more clues. Eventually, Bella stumbled upon a map. She followed it and it led to the exit. “It’s locked,” she said. “I think there is a key here! Try to find it!” Then, they noticed a little clock there. The clock read, “24 minutes left!” They rushed around and looked for more clues, and eventually, Bella found the key! She opened the door, but now a message on the door said, “Enter the PIN.” They were puzzled. “PIN? What PIN?” said Martin. Then, Bella suddenly found a scroll which said: ‘5 7 3 9 2.’ “Try it!” exclaimed Martin. “We don’t have much time.” Bella tapped on the numbers, ‘5 7 3 9 2’ and the door opened! Thomas met them outside. “Well, you have succeeded. Your prize is right here,” he said.
Their prize was resting on a small stool. “Wow! What is this?” asked Martin. “It’s a pearl. They are very rare!” replied Thomas. Later, they went home and buried their treasure in a small box in the ground. They high fived each other and went home.
