Whelp. Now I was stuck in the middle of nowhere, nearly unconscious, with a random person. The man knelt and touched my head. “Hmmm…. are you okay, ma’am?” he asked. I gave him a groan. He grabbed my hand and dragged me farther into the cave. I do not know what happened next, because I passed out for a few minutes.
Later, I woke up, and I found myself on the ground, next to that stream, with water all over my face. “Ohhhh….” I said. “Thank you….” But there was no one to thank. The man was gone. Which meant I had to save both Miranda and Sam. All by myself. Great! So, I ventured deeper into the cave, but it looked different than before. When I turned around, I saw a large lake. I had not seen this before, and that only meant one thing: that I was lost.
I sat down to think about how to get out. Just then, I heard footsteps. I froze. Luckily, it was just Sam. “Sam? I thought you got captured. Thank goodness you’re here!” I exclaimed. “Oh, mother, you won’t believe what happened to me! The knight took me away with a lot of other people, but luckily, I escaped,” she said. “And who was that old man? Do you know?” I asked. “Yep, I do. He is Mr. Gregory. He works as a blacksmith from another town.” I nodded.
Sam took my hand and we went deeper and deeper. It felt like the cave would never end. “Sam, you’re acting like you’re so smart! How could you know the?” I began. “Mother, I have seen this place before. We are going to Mae’s swamp in the back of her palace.” she said. Eventually, we got there, and it really stank. We tried to ignore the smell of rotting mushrooms and continued to the castle.
Finally, we saw the large, metal gate that took us inside. But it was guarded by hundreds of knights with swords. I thought we might be able to sneak past them, because their armor was so tight, I am quite sure they could not see. We quietly snuck past them and believe it or not, we never got captured. Unfortunately, when we got in, Mae saw us. She lifted her scepter pointed it at us. Then, she ran toward us. I tried to escape, but I think she cast a spell on us. She grabbed our arms and tossed us into one of the cells. I looked around, and I saw Miranda lying on the floor in her cell. That worried me.
Soon, Mae came to my cell and said she wanted to talk to me. Since the spell had worn off, I agreed. When I got to her bedroom, which was too dark to see in, I sat down on a chair. “Well, well, well, who do we have here?” she cackled. “Hurry up, please. Just tell me what you….” my voice trailed off. She grabbed my finger and twisted it a lot. Ouch! “Okay, here’s what I wanted to tell you: WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING? HELPING PEOPLE – MY PRISONERS?” she screamed. “N-no, ma’am. I just came to, eh, visit my friends…” I replied. Mae rolled her eyes. “You may pick two people to escape with… and two only,” she chided. So, I rushed to the cells and people offered many items, but, unfortunately, I only took Miranda and Sam. Luckily, Miranda was awake now. We rushed out and went to the town
Now that we were here, I rushed to the police station and reported Mae to the police. Well, we’ll see what happens later, when we go into the castle with all the cops.
TO BE CONTINUED LATER…..
